Comment

Taste: Savoury, juicy, crisp yet melting flesh with strong acidity, which can be overpowering early in its season. Picked early, or grown in the north, cooks well - keeps shape; makes sweet, delicate 'stewed apple'. Bruises easily. Formerly pollinator for Cox orchards. Useful for its juice as a drink, but Jamba is overtaking it for that in the commercial field.

Available from Trees for Life.
