Comment |
Native to the southern part of Europe, including Spain and Portugal. Plant with 3-4 inches of soil over the tops of the bulbs towards the front of a border in an area where they can be left undisturbed. Adequate moisture should be given during the growing season only. "Quite different from other species in that in autumn it throws up leafless stems from which it bears 2-4 bell shaped white flowers, often with red bases to them. The foliage is grass like. The whole plant looks quite reed-like. Height 10-15cm (4-6”)." from R.V. Roger. Available from R. V. Roger and one of the best bulbs for rock gardens from Odyssey Bulbs. |
