"Most of the species originate from the winter rainfall areas of southern Africa. They should not be considered as hardy although there are many instances of them over-wintering in sheltered well drained situations. By far the safest way is to grow them indoors in pots. The range of colours and fragrances is breathtaking, they add a real cheer to the early part of the year."
