Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Foliage

Shoots heavily dressed with large, dark green, slightly glossy foliage.

Flower Colour in Season. Hips

Single, deep silvery-pink blooms paling slightly towards the centre with pronounced stamens.

Flowering is in the Summer only. Moderately fragrant. Ornamental hips display.

Comment

A trailing rose, ideal for banks. Seldom sets any fruit.

Good for procumbent or wide-growing Ground-cover.
