Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Glossy dark green, burnished with coppery-red. Large, hooked thorns on its branches.

Flower Colour in Season. Hips

Lobster Pink paling to blush-pink flowering is in Summer only. Very fragrant. Prone to mildew after flowering. Very floriferous.

Comment

Rambler to grow into trees, fences, bank sides (not sure that Dogger Bank would be suitable due to sea water or Lloyds Bank due to the interest!!) or on walls.
