Soil |
Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring. Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well. |

A most useful rambler or prostrate rose, flowering well into August. Rather inclined to mildew after flowering, especially around the soft, immature thorns. Good for Procumbent or wide-growing Ground-cover. Grow into trees. Susceptible to Mildew. Available from Coblands Nurseries Ltd , Rumwood Nurseries , R.V. Roger Ltd and from Peter Beales Roses.
