Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Bright yellow stamens surrounded by a double layer of white petals. Highly scented flowers borne in large clusters.

Flowering is in the Summer only. Moderately fragrant.

Comment

Vigorous, well-foliated plant. An established plant in full flush of flower is a sight to remember.

Good to grow into trees.
