Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Young shoots and leaves are bronzy-red in the first stages of growth, changing to dull greyish-green when mature.

Semi-double, Cerise-pink Flowers. Deadhead for repeat flowering.

Flowering is Continuous throughout summer. Very fragrant.

Comment

Long flowering season and thornless shoots.

Climber or Pillar rose. Grow into trees.
