Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring. Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well. |

An exceptional rose, good even in poor soils. Vigorous with arching branches. This rose can range in use from a specimen shrub to an effective pillar or climbing rose, or even a tall hedge.
