Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

The loosely formed blooms are large and white with occasional hints of soft pink, highly scented.

Flowering is Continuous throughout the summer. Moderately fragrant.

Comment

A superior rose. Growth is vigorous with sparse thorns. It flowers almost continuously throughout the season and is quite tolerant of a North-facing wall situation.

Climber or Pillar rose. Grow into trees. Good for cutting.
