Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

At its best a superb and beautiful rose with excellent deep velvety-red blooms.

Flowering is Continuous throughout the summer. Very rich fragrance.

Comment

Sturdy plant with slightly angular growth. This is one of R.V. Roger Ltd's favourite roses.

Good for bedding or planting in groups. Grow in pots.

Mildew can be a problem late in the season.
