Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Rich orange-scarlet flowers, double and shaggy when open, come in large clusters on tall stems and are borne freely. Good rain resistance, however fades in the sun.

Flowering is Continuous throughout the summer.

Comment

An outstanding rose from the 1950's with upright growth and vigorous.

Good for bedding or planting in groups. Hedging. Grow in pots.
