Comment

An outstanding rose with growth bushy and upright.

Susceptible to Black Spot. From page 438 of Peter Beales Roses - An illustrated encyclopedia and grower's handbook of species roses, old roses and modern roses, shrub roses and climbers by Peter Beales (ISBN 0-00-272178-3):-

"Regular overhead irrigation will control black spot, provided it is carried out overnight to avoid scorching the foliage. This should be done , at minimum intervals of 10 days, for about 5 hours on each occasion. A winter wash of the plant and the surrounding ground with a solution of Jeyes Fluid helps to keep off any spores lurking on decaying leaves or in the soil and helps delay infection from the disease in early summer. The disease attacks the leaves, usually from mid-summer onwards, often resulting in complete defoliation. It can be recognized by the black or dark brown patches which spread rapidly over leaves and often extend to the young stems, causing them initially to become mottled and later to die. Each leaf that falls carries with it millions of spores which overwinter in the soil, ready for an attack the following season. The removal and burning of the leaves, both from the bush and the surrounding ground " is required. When pruning roses susceptible to Black Spot, even deadheading, dip pruners in a bleach/water solution after each cut.

Good for bedding or planting in groups. Hedging.

Available from Coblands Nurseries Ltd , Rumwood Nurseries , R.V. Roger Ltd and from Peter Beales Roses.
