Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Foliage

Small, mid-green and matt. Glossy bronze young foliage.

Large clusters of bright vermilion-red, double flowers with a white eye and silver reverse are spectacular.

Flowering is Continuous throughout the summer. Repeat or Recurrent.

Comment

Bushy and upright plant.

Excellent for bedding or planting in groups. Hedging.
