Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Dark green, almost glossy, and leathery.

Comment

Growth upright and bushy. Easy to grow; deadhead for repeat flowering all season.

Good for close-density bedding and edging or planting in groups among other plants. Good for cutting. Grow in pots or external window boxes.
