Soil

Roses prefer acidic soil of pH 6.5 (sand) but will tolerate alkaline soils up to pH 7.5 (chalk). Mix 25 lts farmyard manure, or pulverized tree bark with bone meal, in soil before planting. Broadcast rose fertilizer in early Spring.

Tolerant of Poor Soils, so broadcast rose fertilizer in early summer as well.

Crimson to Cherry-Red blooms are carried on strong stems and are continuous throughout the summer. The flowers are generally borne singly or with several side buds. Very outstanding sweet fragrance.

A good all-rounder which is suitable for bedding or planting in groups as bushes or standards.
