The Railway Land Local Nature Reserve lies to the south of Cliffe High Street, Lewes, East Sussex. Local people fought for the land in 1987, founded the Railway Land Wildlife Trust in 1988 and have shaped the Reserve's use ever since including the creation of a 'heart' of reeds.
This website brings together 6 core aspects of the Railway Land project to stimulate debate and interest at many levels. To serve these aims, the Trust has launched its most ambitious campaign yet to build a centre for the study of environmental change.
